- Set aside 15 minutes a day
- Sit down with your child
- Let him pick a book of his choice
- Have him read aloud clearly
- Help him with words he has difficulty pronouncing
- Do not allow him to simply gloss over words he does not know
- Remember that it is better to spend short daily sessions reading with kids than long sessions which may bore them in the beginning
- It will be easier for the child to pick up reading as he gets used to it later on a step-by-step basis.
